"Forgetting the Things Which Are Behind, and Stretching Forward to the Things Which Are Before"

"Brethren, I count not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before"

Philippians 3:13
American Standard Version

Don't look back. Easier said than done – this is what I thought for a long long time.
When we are comfortable, that is usually the time when we look back upon the past.

It takes real hardship and real tough times to learn to look ahead.
Or the other end of the spectrum: loads of success.

Interestingly enough, hard times and good times are the real indicator of a person's character. Comfortable security might look good at first glance. Though in the long run it kills the soul and thwarts progress because it simply kills innovation.

I read once on the internet somewhere a great quote:

Hard times create tough men.
Tough men create good times.
Good times create weak men.
Weak men creat hard times.

Hard times and good times are the times when we look ahead.
Which one do you choose? If we look at the quote above, the choice is not an easy one.
Good times are the obvious choice. Real character though is forged in hard times.

We are constantly changing, evolving.
What was true a year, 5 years, 10 years or a minute ago may or may not be true now. Life is changing. Constantly. So enjoy it and rejoice in the spirit which will lead you where your true destiny is.

"We Have a Building from God, a House Not Made with Hands, Eternal"

"For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens."

2 Corinthians 5: 1
American Standard Version

What is your building from God? What do you consider eternal?

A building from God can be anything we believe in. Something that is stronger and more everlasting than anything else. It can be something to live for and to die for.

A building from God cannot be seen but it can be felt.
Eternal just like life. Although according to esteemed scientists the Sun will blow up and with it our Earth too, in approximately 4 billion years' time. But the life, this life we have on Earth, surely it has a meaning and it won't just dissolve into nothing. Or will it?

Even when something is destroyed and it fills you with sorrow, there is always the building from God you can turn to.

There must be some things that are eternal. That give us hope and strength and a reason to live.

“And All Things, Whatsoever Ye Shall Ask in Prayer, Believing, Ye Shall Receive”

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Matthew 21:22
American Standard Version

Prayer is a way of organizing our thoughts.
Prayer is a way of expressing gratitude.
Prayer is a way of uniting with ourselves.

Prayer is honest when we mean what we say, what we really want deep in our heart.
Prayer power is power when true belief accompanies your thoughts.

And it doesn't hurt either if you know what you are asking for. It doesn't hurt to be precise with your words. What you wish for, comes true in one way or another. Make reality as close to the picture you imagined as you can.

There might be detours along the way. With perseverance you'll find the way.
Prayer, belief, actions and a pinch of go-getter crazy attitude will get you to places you want to go.

"Ye Are a Temple of God"

"Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

1 Corinthians 3:16
American Standard Version

Every human being is special.
You, as an individual person, possess a unique spark, a spark that only you have.
God dwells in each and every one of us. Nobody is better or less than the others at birth.
And then we tend to let society dim our light.
Because it is more comfortable this way. To stand out to search for who we really are takes courage.

Our body is the temple of God.
It basically means that when we pamper ourselves, let's say with Nutella, then we pamper God. So given this logic, Nutella is God.

Jokes apart, our body and our spirit, they make up a whole, the wholeness of our spirit.
